What we offer

As awareness of workplace hazards increase and legislative requirements tighten, the need for technical rescue capabilities grows as well. More and more fire departments and private businesses are realizing an increased need for an up to date, advanced rescue capabilities and therefore, higher levels of training.

The Technical Rescuer course is the first step in completing the knowledge and skill requirements for NFPA 1006, 2013 edition, Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications.

Throughout this 40-hour course, you will receive key lessons in the classroom and enjoy small groups while practicing your new skills. Our experienced Instructors will coach you through the practical application of skills to ensure all requirements of chapter five in the new standard are met. We conduct our training in a setting focusing on small class size and skill development through individual hands-on skill practice, demonstration, and evaluation.

Our modern 32,000 square foot training facility, conveniently located at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport, includes modern classrooms, large training grounds and a five-story rescue training tower.

This course covers all the core competencies in Chapter 5 of NFPA 1006, including:

Upon successful completion of the training each trainee will have the basic knowledge required to use and apply rope rescue awareness. Students who wish to receive certification through the OFM can do so at a later date.

Note:

This is a physically demanding course requiring participation in lengthy practical training evolutions. Applicants must be in good physical condition.

Student must bring
 
Steel toe boots and gloves. This training involves exterior evaluations and practical work. Please dress according to the weather.
